Please go through it thoroughly. Always keep the itinerary with you during the entire journey and refer to it whenever you want to know on what next to do! |
| |
Question-5 How to handle baggage and travel documents? |
| |
| It is recommended that you travel light with minimum possible luggage. |
All big sized suitcases & trolley-bags have to be checked-in at the time of collecting boarding pass at the airport. This means that they will go separately as cargo to your destination (in the same flight). Weight of the checked-in baggage should not be more than 20 kgs for both flights and cruise. |
In case you are not boarding a direct flight and taking a connecting flight (at Bangkok or Singapore), please check-in your baggage directly till Hong Kong. |
You have the option of keeping one small sized bag with you as a cabin (hand) baggage which will remain with you at all times that should not be more than 6 kgs.. You may carry your few pieces of clothing and travel documents, etc. in your hand baggage. Following items are not allowed in the cabin baggage– knifes, razors, nail cutters, batteries (batteries inside the camera are allowed), scissors, lighters, matches or any such item that the security can consider dangerous. Your cabin baggage should ideally contain at-least one night’s clothing and some toiletries but below 100 ml. and in plastic containers only. Please carry your necessary medicines but with doctor’s prescription. This will be helpful in any unfortunate case of delayed/ missed baggage. |
All your baggage should be neatly labeled with your name and address. Ask for baggage tags from us. |
| |
ENSURE THAT YOUR PASSPORT, AIR TICKET, FOREIGN EXCHANGE, IMMIGRATION CARDS AND/ OR ALL OTHER TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ARE IN YOUR HAND BAGGAGE. DO NOT PUT THEM INSIDE YOUR CHECK-IN BAGGAGE. |
| |
We also recommend that you carry with you a photocopy of the first, second and the last pages of your passport and also the visa page and the airtickets separately (not with originals).
Please also keep the traveller cheques receipts separately, as should you lose these Traveller Cheques, the receipt will facilitate early replacement. |
| |
Question-6 What are departure airport formalities? |
| |
Following sequence of movements to be followed: |
| |

The check-in counter will stick one numbered label per bag behind your ticket or boarding pass. If you check-in 3 bags, they will give you 3 such stickers. They need to be taken care-off till the time you reclaim your baggage at the destination. |
| f) |
Also collect India Immigration Card from the check-in counter and fill-it in all respects. |
| g) |
Thereafter, proceed to the Immigrations Counters, again with all documents in hand. While at Immigrations Counter, you should be able to tell your personal & family details (as reflecting on your passport), where you are going, why, how many days, which airlines, which hotel, etc. Your passport will be stamped for exit. You cannot come back to the departure/check-in area after this. |

Foreign Exchange currency also to be declared if exceeding than USD 10000 under Basic Travel Quota. You must keep the official forex receipts against each passport. |
| i) |
Proceed further. Now, your cabin-baggage will be screened. You also will have to go through security check and will be whisked in person. |
| j) |
After completing all this, you will find yourself at the departure lounge in front of the departure gate. Please be sure about the departure gate of your flight, same can be checked on various screens at the airport. |
| k) |
10-15 minutes before the flight departure time, an announcement will be made and all passengers will proceed towards the flight (Either on bus or using an aero-bridge). |
| l) |
After entering the aircraft, look for your seat number (cabin crew will assist), put the cabin-baggage inside the cabins located above your seats, and take your seat. We are now ready for the take-off. |
| m) |
In the flight, you will be handed over disembarkation forms by the cabin crew, which you need to fill in all respects. If you are taking a connecting flight onward, then you don’t need to fill the form for the intermediary destination. |
